We often think of grandiose ideas when it comes to God’s plans for our future. However, the truth is that God cares about the little things as much as the greater things in our life.
He says:
- “Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
Matthew 6 v 25 -34 (New International Version)
Bible tells us about the good news that God brings. It tells us that God is closer to us than anyone else is. God listens to all our prayers and pleas. He is near; He cares for you and me and for the world. God didn’t just create us and then abandoned us. He continues to lead us, guide us and care for us – His children – through every hardship.
God expressed His love to us by creating and giving us this world and by continuing to stay in a loving relationship with His people. But the question is, do we care? Do we care for our loved ones, the people we dislike, our friends and families, and God as well?
You see, as messengers of God’s Holy Word, all of us have the privilege and responsibility to care for God’s creation, including each other. We should consider the Scripture as our utmost motivation. We ought to care for each other, for animals, and all of God’s creation on Earth. However, we have failed to do so. Our everyday attitudes, choices, and decisions are often motivated by lifestyle, culture, and preferences not mentioned in the Bible. Clearly, we have failed to look out for each other and care for all the wonderful things that God has bestowed upon us: human activities to improve lifestyle have a profound effect on our future generations, climate, and the legacy we leave behind.
There is, however, a solution: We can choose to move ahead with logical hope as we accept the severity of the problems we encounter while also taking action by viewing the Gospel in a hopeful way.
The human version of caring for the creation is entrenched in the Scripture. Jesus has taught us that the most crucial commandment is to love the Almighty with our whole heart and soul, entity, strength, and mind. He also advises us to love our neighbors as we love and care for ourselves. (Mark 12:29-31)
Our care and love for God must be viewed to satisfy the role he has given each of us in this world. God appoints each one of us to represent His image (Gen 1:27), and He delegated this world to our care.
This Bible is very clear that all of creation belongs to God; “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Ps. 24:1). “For every wild animal of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the air, and all that moves in the field is mine” (Ps. 50:10-11).
This world is proof that God cares for us and our well-being, and thus, we should also care for His creation.
- “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth… all things have been created through him and for him”
(Col. 1:15-16)
